Ballarat based clubs have been allocated Lanes and are responsible for rostering their own timekeepers throughout the Meet.  All OTHER clubs have been allocated Lane 1 and 2 for timekeeping.  Please can members of OTHER clubs sign up for their timekeeping duties here.  A roster will be finalised and distributed via email. DESCRIPTION:In the Small Gym next to the Pool at Ballarat Grammar School \n\n\n\n\n\nWe are pleased to announce that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Awards night for the Swimming Club will be held on  Friday 15 November 2024 at 7pm. The meeting will take place at the Small Gym at Ballarat Grammar School (next door to the pool)\, 201 Forest Street Wendouree Vic 3355. \n\n\n\nThis is an important event for all members\, and we encourage everyone to attend. The agenda will include: \n\n\n\n\n1. Review of the past year’s activities and achievements\n\n\n\n2. Financial report and budget approval\n\n\n\n3. Special Resolution – Approval of the club’s Constitution – download a draft version. We welcome your feedback and comments via email to committee@ballaratgold.org.au.\n\n\n\n4. Election of committee members – download nomination form. There is a $15/swimmer Meet Entry Fee. \n\n\n\nClub swimmers with race experience should enter the Proficiency Assessment via Swim Central.  The Proficiency program provides SV Registered Club swimmers with an opportunity to gain a range of awards by achieving the relevant standards in the 4 swimming strokes. The Certificates and Awards are technique focused\, non-competitive and allow swimmers to track their progress by applying for and achieving higher awards each year.  There are 4 technique certificates and 6 levels of Award.  Each award prescribes a distance for each stroke that needs to be swum within a set time for each gender.  Swimmers can apply for as many levels as they wish\, with the exception of “Bar to Gold”.  “Bar to Gold” applicants MUST already hold the Gold standard.  Swimmers will only receive a Certificate or Award if it has been applied for AND the swimmer achieves the required standard. \n\n\n\nNew Club swimmers wishing to try racing for the first time and unregistered swimmers should enter Encouragement Meet via Try Booking.  Swimmers may choose from: 50m Freestyle\, 50m Backstroke\, 50m Breaststroke and 50m Butterfly.  Swimmers can choose to swim any number of strokes from only 1 race to all 4 Events.  The Meet entry fee includes your choice of 2 strokes. Additional Events cost $5.50/event. All participants will be awarded a participation certificate.  No requirement to be registered with a club. Suitable for “Swim School” and new\, inexperienced club swimmers. All Events will be 50m (1 length of the pool). Swimmer must be able to swim 50m without stopping. Events will be split into Age Groups based on swimmer’s age on 18th February 2024. Events with only 1 competitor may be combined with the next nearest age group. We ask for the assistance of timekeepers and technical officials to assist with using the Ledges.  Instructions are included in the Meet Program and can also be downloaded from our website. \n\n\n\nPooldeck safety Ballarat Gold Swimming Club requests that pooldeck remains clear at all times\, for the safety of Technical Officials\, and to allow them to operate effectively.  Attendees should not be standing on pool deck\, with the exception of swimmers receiving feedback from their Coach.  Please remain seated as much as possible and be aware that those around you also wish to have a good view of the pool.  Thank you for being courteous and considerate. \n\n\n\nPop-up Shops We are pleased to announce that you will be able to purchase all your swimming gear and accessories for the upcoming Long Course Season from our 2 pop-up shops brought to you by Swim-Merch and Jolyn Swimwear and Clothing Co.  You will find them in the Courtyard (see venue map in Meet Program) \n\n\n\nCoffee and Hot Drinks brought to you by Spinner Kitchen (also in the Courtyard). \n\n\n\nBallarat Gold Sausage Sizzle – sausages and cold drinks at affordable prices (also in the Courtyard).
