History of the Club
Our Journey
Ballarat Gold Swimming was founded in 1998, following the formation of the Mark Stahl Swim School. Due to a rapid growth in the quality and quantity of swimmers attending the swim school, Peter Pay, Pam Toom and Mark Stahl came together to form a competitive swimming club to meet the needs of swimmers who wanted more than just swimming lessons – they wanted to race. The club was created with the support of Ballarat Grammar school and in particular, Rob Olston who sadly passed away in the early stages to the clubs development. The swimming club forged a strong working relationship with Ballarat Grammar and has established its home base at the Grammar pool.
Over the 20 plus years since its inception the club has seen many people volunteer their time and energy to make Ballarat Gold the great and ever developing club it is today. The Club is a great place for all swimmers to develop their skills to be the best they can be and in doing so create life long friendships.
Ballarat Gold is an inclusive organisation that focus on the simple joy and love of swimming.
